Lansdowne is a hill station in the north Indian state of Uttarakhand. It was founded as a military garrison under the British Raj The untouched valley of Lansdowne is located in Pauri Garhwal known for its snowy serenity. The small cantonment town of Garhwal region of Himalayas is a popular destination for leisure outings that attracts travellers. Situated at an altitude of 1700 m and is at a distance of 240 kilometres from Delhi.

Unspoilt by human activities, Lansdowne is also popular as one of the British Hill stations and is home to the cantonment of the Garhwal Rifles of the Indian Army. The area is home to some of the most mystical and breathtaking views. This place Lansdowne is famous for its eco-friendly tourism revolving around mountaineering, trekking, and jungle safaris. The Shardotsav festival celebrated annually during autumn draws tourists from across the country.

How to get there
Most prefred way is by car Delhi to Lansdowne covering the distance of 261 km in ~5 hours. Road from Delhi to Lansdowne is in excellent condition, which in turn has made it a favorite way of travelling. This way is well suited for as one can stop anytime and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.

Bus – There are regular, AC and deluxe buses available to Kotdwar from ISBT Kashmere gate and from Kotdwar, one can hire a taxi or a bus for Lansdowne. it takes 1 hour from Kotdwar to Lansdowne.
Train – Kotdwar is the nearest railway station to Lansdowne and it is well connected with all the major cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow.
